Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Kevin George (“we”, “us”) about your use of the ChatFlag browser extension, ChatFlag Pro and this website (together, “ChatFlag”). By installing or using ChatFlag, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use ChatFlag.

1. What ChatFlag is

ChatFlag is a browser extension that lets you bookmark (“flag”) places in conversations on ChatGPT and Claude and jump back to them. It stores your flags in your browser, as described in our Privacy Policy.

2. Free and Pro plans

• Free: ChatFlag's core features at no cost, including up to 4 flags in each chat and export/import of your flags.
• Pro: a paid upgrade that unlocks additional features, such as unlimited flags and searching across all chats. The current features of each plan are listed on our pricing page.

We may improve, change or add features over time.

3. Buying Pro

Pro is sold as a one-time purchase; it is not a subscription and does not renew. Orders are processed by Dodo Payments, which acts as the merchant of record. Dodo Payments handles payment, sales tax/VAT and invoicing, and its own terms apply to the payment itself. Prices are shown at checkout and may include taxes depending on where you live. We may change the price for future buyers; that never affects what you already paid.

4. Your Pro license

When you buy Pro, you receive a license key. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use ChatFlag Pro:

• for as long as ChatFlag is available (a “lifetime” license means the lifetime of the product, not of the purchaser),
• on up to 3 devices that you personally use. You can move the license between devices by deactivating it in Settings on one device and activating it on another.

To keep Pro unlocked, ChatFlag checks your key with Dodo Payments' license service when you activate it and about once a day after that. Pro keeps working offline for up to 30 days after the last successful check.

You may not share, publish, sell or give away your license key, or use one key for other people or an organization.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• bypass, disable or tamper with ChatFlag's licensing, or use Pro features without a valid license,
• copy, modify, resell or redistribute ChatFlag, or publish a modified version of it,
• use ChatFlag in a way that breaks the law or the terms of the websites it runs on.

If a license key is shared publicly, resold, used fraudulently or refunded, we may deactivate it.

6. Refunds

You can get a full refund within 7 days of buying Pro, as described in our Refund Policy. A refunded license key stops working.

7. Third-party websites

ChatFlag works on ChatGPT (by OpenAI) and Claude (by Anthropic). We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by OpenAI or Anthropic, and ChatGPT and Claude are their trademarks. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms.

Those websites change often, and a change on their side may temporarily stop some ChatFlag features from working until we release an update. We will try to fix such problems quickly, but we can't guarantee that ChatFlag will keep working with every future version of those sites.

8. Your data

Your flags belong to you. They are stored in your browser and you can export or delete them at any time. Because they are stored only on your device, you are responsible for keeping backups (for example with Export JSON). Uninstalling ChatFlag or clearing your browser's extension data deletes them. See the Privacy Policy for details.

9. Updates

ChatFlag updates automatically through your browser's extension store. Updates may fix bugs, adapt to changes on ChatGPT or Claude, or add features.

10. Ownership

ChatFlag, its code, name, logo and design are owned by Kevin George and protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms give you a license to use ChatFlag; they don't transfer any ownership to you.

11. No warranty

ChatFlag is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't guarantee that ChatFlag will be error-free, uninterrupted or that flags will never be lost. Some places don't allow these exclusions, so some of them may not apply to you.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of data, profits or business, arising from your use of ChatFlag. Our total liability for any claim relating to ChatFlag is limited to the amount you paid us for ChatFlag Pro, or US$10 if you used only the free plan. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer under the laws of your country.

13. Ending these Terms

You can stop using ChatFlag at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or deactivate a license that is used in breach of these Terms. If we ever discontinue ChatFlag, we will give at least 30 days' notice where we can, and the extension you have installed will keep working with your existing flags for as long as your browser and the chat websites allow.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the new version on this page with a new date. If a change is significant, we will give notice in the extension's update notes or on this website. Continuing to use ChatFlag after a change means you accept the new Terms.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled by the courts of India, unless the consumer protection laws of your country give you the right to bring a claim where you live.
